Class 7 Physical education and well being notes Kabaddi Kabaddi is a team sport played between two teams of seven players each. A player called the raider goes into the opponent’s court, touches the players, and returns safely while chanting “Kabaddi” in one breath. Two raiding skills: • Running hand touch • Toe touch ⸻ Defensive Hold (Ankle Hold) Ankle hold is a defensive skill used to stop the raider. The defender bends down and catches the raider’s ankle firmly. This prevents the raider from returning to his court and helps to get him out. ⸻ Yoga Yoga is an ancient practice that helps to keep the body and mind healthy. It includes asanas, pranayama, and meditation. Two benefits of yoga: • Makes the body strong and flexible • Keeps the mind calm and reduces stress ⸻ Pranayama Pranayama is the practice of controlled breathing. It helps in proper breathing and improves overall health. Importance of pranayama: • Improves lung capacity • Keeps the mind fresh and relaxed • Helps in better concentration ⸻ Tadasana Tadasana is also called the Mountain Pose. In this asana, we stand straight with feet together and raise both arms upward. The body is stretched while standing on the toes. Benefits: • Improves posture • Increases balance • Strengthens legs and spine
