Krishna Janmashtami, the auspicious festival commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna , one of the most powerful incarnations of Lord Vishnu, was celebrated at Sh. S.N. Sidheshwar Sr. Sec. Public School, Sector 9A, Gurugram, with great enthusiasm, devotion and joy. The celebration was graced by Anshu Singla, IPS as the Chief Guest, in the esteemed presence of the school Principal, Jagpreet Kaur.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome and introduction of the Chief Guest, followed by the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The school premises was beautifully adorned with colourful balloons, floral arrangements, painted matkis, flutes and artistic glimpses from the life of Lord Krishna, creating a mini-Vrindavan atmosphere. The celebration featured devotional songs, traditional dance performances and an engaging skit portraying the Baal Leelas of Lord Krishna. The cherished bond between Krishna and Sudama beautifully conveyed the values of true friendship, kindness, understanding and standing by one another during difficult times. The students also presented an enactment of Kaalia Mardan, bringing alive one of the memorable childhood Leelas of Lord Krishna
Addressing the students, the Chief Guest reminded them that festivals are not the occasions for just joy and celebration but they also provide valuable opportunities to learn, reflect and grow. She encouraged the students to imbibe and practise the values of compassion, unity and friendship in their daily lives.
The celebration concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the Principal, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
The vibrant celebration left the students with a deeper appreciation of Indian culture and the enduring values embodied in the life and teachings of Lord Krishna.
